2005 Pinot Noir

Bright ruby in colour, our 2005 Pinot noir presents an enticing bouquet of black pepper, cocoa and cassis. Round tannins frame flavours of cherry, ripe raspberry and red currant, leading to a rich finish of dried strawberry and tobacco notes.

Grower’s Thoughts: "We had a nicely balanced crop this year at around 3 to 3.5 tonnes per acre. Shoot thinning in May and June helped to balance the vines and berries. We picked the Pinot Noir two separate times, and used berries from three different clones from three separate blocks to build complexity. Pinot Noir consistently performs well on the Home Vineyard in its rocky, calcareous soil."- Lanny Martiniuk
